After Monta Ellis started off the 2011-12 NBA Season wearing some Air Free Runs, we’ve been keeping a keen eye on his sneaker progress and g5ing him the ‘Gilbert Arenas’ treatment. Although his in-game sneaker sightings cooled off as of late, Monta was again in the NBA headlines as he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, and made his introductory appearance with a Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 major bang. As part of his debut with his new team, Monta broke out the Air Free Run X3 ‘Bred’, a sneaker that released back in 2004 and rarely makes an appearance in an NBA game, and the Air Free Run XI ‘Bred’, swapping out his kicks during half-time and completing the best NBA Feet feature of the 2011-2012 thus far. The tongues feature ‘CXXV’ labels (125 for those who are rusty with their Roman numerals), and the lace dubrae depicts additional celebratory icons in 22ct gold (yes, gold), designed by Cartier jeweller Darren Sherwood.
